Hello,
I’ve carefully read the LFX mentorship project description, the technical scope document, and the related GitHub issue about the etcd self-assessment. I find the focus on understanding etcd internals—especially request lifecycles, Raft-based consistency, and the security assessment—very aligned with my interests in distributed storage systems and backend infrastructure.
I’m excited about the opportunity to contribute to this project and would like to prepare myself as effectively as possible. From your perspective, what would be the best way to start getting deeply familiar with the project?
For example, are there specific parts of the etcd codebase, documentation, design docs, or past discussions that you would recommend focusing on first to build a strong mental model of the system before contributing?
Thank you for your time, and I’m looking forward to learning and contributing to the project.
