Hi all

Im on version 3.16 of etcd and im getting this error :'etcdserver: mvcc: database space exceeded"

it looks like the /var/lib/etcd/member folder is around 2.3GB

any ideas on how to deal with this?

I have tried following this guide - https://github.com/coreos/etcd/blob/master/Documentation/op-guide/maintenance.md but the "compact" argument doesnt seem to exist for the etcdctl command?

Thanks

I have figured out how to use compaction as per the guide above and i see that the /var/lib/etcd/member folder is down to 350mb now but im still getting errors on the clients saying "etcdserver: mvcc: database space exceeded"
'etcdserver: mvcc: database space exceeded' (will not retry!)

any ideas appreciated

Hi,

Are you running k8s atop of etcd? Or it is your own workload? Have you done any compaction before db size grows to 3GB?

Thanks,
Xiang
