Brothers and Little Sisters,

It’s that time of year when I collect funds for the David Morey, Virginia Tech, Theta Chi, Brookville Ruritan Scholarship fund.  As most of you know, this will be the third year the scholarship will be awarded in David’s memory.  The Brookville Ruritan Club, where David was an outstanding member, selects a deserving senior at Brookville High School who will attend Tech to receive the award each year.  In addition, David’s longtime partner Alex, has helped fund the scholarship, along with contributions from the Ruritan club.  Last year, Kendall Becraft, son of brother Kenny Becraft was the recipient.

If you would like to contribute to the fund, send your checks made out to the Brookville Ruritan to me at 16268 Deerfield Ln., Montpelier, Va 23192 by April 30th.  I will collect them and get them to the Scholarship Committee at the club.  As we build the fund, the number of years that we can continue the award grows.  It would be nice to be able at some point in time to make it self sustaining.

Fraternally,

Frank Overbey, 73’ Charter
