If you don't have hand sanitizer, carry a bar of soap and bottle of water so you can wash your hands before eating, touching your face, entering your home, or after touching any surface that another person might have touched. |

Tell me why… Picture a high-touch surface, like a door handle. Someone infected with COVID-19 (who may or may not be aware they have it) coughs near the door, and respiratory droplets (containing the virus) land on the handle. Or, maybe they sneeze into their hand and touch the handle, thereby transferring the virus.
A while later you open the door, and the virus transfers to your hand. Then you scratch your nose transferring the virus to your nostril, or you eat a sandwich, passing the virus to your pastrami on rye, then your mouth. Yikes! You might be infected.
OR, you realize you touched a high-touch surface and wash your hands immediately. Nothing's infecting you! |

If you don't wash your hands after touching high-touch surfaces, then anything else you touch could potentially become contaminated. Stay alert and stay vigilant about protecting yourself. Find more tips on the COVID-19 Resource Center on Estes4Me. |
