Please be advised. Tony Fiorita (Neighborhood Crime Watch) has
reported the following

ESTATES AT RIVER CROSSING- ***CRIME ALERT***

Residents of Estates at River Crossing, we have had a rash of property
crimes in our peaceful neighborhood over the past few weeks. It all
started about 3 weeks ago, when we had a vehicle stolen in 4500 block
of River Overlook Drive. Then about 2 Fridays ago; on January 16, 2009
we had a residential burglary of a home on Winding River. The intruder
had ripped the sliding glass doors off their hinges/ tracks and made
entrance. Items stolen from that house were jewelry, a laptop, a
camcorder, DVD/ TV, CD’s and other valuable items. The break in was
discovered by a young female who had arrived home alone by herself.

Then the following Monday a neighbor reported to me a suspicious
individual walking around our neighborhood. The subject was a skinny
African- American male, approximately 5’11 to 6’2 in height. He was
wearing black jeans, a black hoodie sweatshirt with red liner, a white
t-shirt, and holding a black back pack. When the neighbor began to
point him out to me, he ducked down in some shrubs next to a home on
River Overlook and when we went to confront him, the subject took off
running through the conservation area and onto Lake Monte Drive.

Lastly on Monday January 26, 2009 there was a rash of break ins on
autos parked in driveways and on streets. A group of young adults were
seen breaking into cars and it was reported to police. Sheriff’s
deputies swarmed the scene with a Helicopter and K-9 units. All
suspects were caught as of this publication, but police believe there
are other gangs of thieves out there. Some of the suspects were caught
in our neighborhood and others were fleeing the area around our
neighborhood.

I am asking each and everyone of you to please be vigilant. If you see
something that doesn’t seem right, PLEASE CALL THE Hillsborough County
Sheriff’s Office and have them come check it out. ALSO, PLEASE LOCK
YOUR DOORS ON YOUR HOUSE AND YOUR CARS, AND REMEMBER TO SET YOUR
ALARMS WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE!
