Does anyone know the name of the paint we are suppose to use for our mailbox post and also what paint store? I need to paint mine and I know of several people that are looking for this also.   Thanks, Erika Alcathie

Erica,

Page 11 -- Section 16.  Mailboxes... The Architectural Committee shall approve a standard mailbox design for use throughout the Property.  No mailboxes shall be installed which do not meet the standard mailbox design set forth on Exhibit "C".

Per the covenants, the mailboxes are to be painted the base color of the house (see attachment exhibit "C").

If you are going to paint your home, please do not forget to fill out an ACC form and turn it into Communities of America so the ACC can approve it.  If you need a form, I will be happy to email one to you.

If you do not know the Base Color of your home, please contact Bob at Communities of America (the management company for the Estates) b...@communitiesofamerica.com.  Although Rick is still in charge of COA, Bob is the manager which will handle our needs.

Paul Matlock is the Chair for our ACC he can be reached at Paul.M...@verizon.net.

All the best,

Thanks Beverly,
I had read the covenants and saw that the post should match the base of the house , but I think everyone's  post on my street is the same. I will contact Paul about the color. I just wanted to repaint the post the base has missing paint due to lawn maintenance.
                                                     Thanks Again,
                                                             Erika

Erika,

You are welcome and you are right.  Every mail box in the neighborhood is the same color with exception of the rare few that painted and read the covenants prior to painting.  That was a builders mistake.  I do believe that the ACC is allowing the posts to remain the color that the builder choose or be painted the base color of the house.  Please consult Paul Matlock (ACC Chair) to confirm.  My personal opinion is that the neighborhood would benefit from having the mail box posts match that base color of the homes by bringing a bit more personality to the streets.

Per the Architectural Control Committee, there is not an exact code.
You can, however, paint it the same as your house color. Porter Paints
offers a discount but the closest one is in Tampa. Any paint
store/painting company can match the color.

Hope this helps.

Correction to the statement that there is no exact code for mailbox posts...

Per the covenants, the color for the mailbox post on your property is to be the base color of your house.  However, since the builder made a mistake and painted all mailbox posts the same color, I believe that color is also acceptable.  There is a code for that color, I am not sure what that code is, so anyone that is going to paint a post that does not wish to go with the base color of their house should contact Communities of America to get the correct color code for the current color.  Our contact is Bob Mandell his email is b...@communitiesofamerica.com

I found an old Cross Wire (from Fall 2004) and it states:

"Mail Box Post is Linen White: If you are painting your mail box post
you can purchase the Behr paint at Home Depot. The color is Linen
White, W-D-310."

We had previously bought this to paint our post, I just can't believe
I found that old Cross Wire to let you know how we knew to get that
color! Carol Cole :)
