to Estates at River Crossing
I fell that I must appologize to the ERC's Board as well as home
owners for missing the last board meeting. I understand that I have
been appointed secretary and feel remiss in my duties to you all in
that we probably don't have minutes for that meeting becasue of my
absence.

I have frequent sinus attacks and thought I had plenty of time to
medicate myself, rest and attend the meeting refreshed. However, the
medication apparently worked a bit too well and knocked me out till
8:30 pm that night. I said "hello" to my husband who had awakened me
then rolled over and slept till 9 am the next morning.
Steve Souza and Beverly Thornburgh had come by to pick me up and I
never heard a doorbell, knocking or dog barking. Needless to say I
will not take that particular sinus medicine again if I have plans of
any kind.

There were a couple of subjects that I wanted to bring up at the
meeting:
1. I'd like to suggest a sign at the entrance to the maintenence drive
stating, "AUTHORIZED COUNTY VEHICLES ONLY - NO MOTORCYCLES, DIRT BIKES
OR GO CARTS ALLOWED IN RETENSION POND AREA." ; or something to that
effect.
2. Also I feel that we should post a sign at the top of the pond area
and one at the back of the this area stating something along this
line: "ABSOLUTELY NO WEAPONS OF ANY TYPE ALLOWED ON THE RIVERWALK OR
WITHIN THE COMMON AREA; THIS INCLUDES FIREARMS, ARCHERY EQUIPMENT AND
FIREWORKS.
Sheriff's Dept. will be notified without warning by our Neighborhood
Watch."
3. Further, I think we should post a one more sign on the dock itself
stating something to the effect: "Any one starting a fire on this dock
or in the wooded area will be prosecuted to the full extent of the
law!"

We've had too many instances of people (not just kids) abusing these
areas. There have been dirt bikes and all terrain vehicles using the
retention pond as if it is a "Crome's Park". We have also had people
going into the woods behind our homes with rifles and practicing
archery with real metal tipped arrows in the pond area itself. And
believe it or not this last incident was condoned by the teens'
fathers who reside here in the Estates.

This is important to me because we've rebuilt the dock at least 4
times in the 6 years I've lived here, there is a high chance of
wildfire with all the underbrush and draught conditions and the
neighborhood kids roam through the woods and pond area and shouldn't
have to worry about flying arrows, BB's, or bullets or any kind.

According to the Sheriff's deputy I spoke with on the phone, we have
more recourse to call them out and have citations issued if the area
is posted.

Thanks for your consideration,
Cathi Thompson
