1) General Meeting: Environmental Consultant Speaker (2/12) When: THIS Wednesday, February 12th from 5-6pm

We'll be hosting special guest, Mark Katchen, the managing principal of Phylmar Group, an environmental consulting firm. Hear him speak about his extensive background and career as an environmental consultant. This is a really great opportunity to meet someone working in the field and have any questions you may have answered!

2) UCLA Cogeneration Plant Tour, Feb 13th 3-4pm
EARTH Committee of the Student Wellness Commission (SWC), Environmental Science Student Network (ESSN), and Engineers Without Borders (EWB) are inviting all interested students for an exclusive tour of UCLA's own Cogeneration Plant. The tour will be led by UCLA's Chief Sustainability Officer, Ms. Nurit Katz. There is a maximum number of people we can take, so RSVP below to save your spot today!

3) SWC Reusable Exchange Feb 13th, 12-2pm
Do you have plastic water bottles piling up in your dorm/apartment? How about plastic bags?

Join USAC Student Wellness Commission EARTH this Thursday (02/13/14) from 12-2 p.m. by the white tables by SAC to exchange your plastic water bottles and grocery bags for REUSABLE BOTTLES & TOTES!

5 recyclables for one reusable item of your choice!

 

4) Alumni Night! (2/25)

When: Tuesday, February 25th - Light reception at 6:15, event starts at 6:30

Interested in a career in sustainability? ESSN is hosting it's second annual alumni night 8th week! Come out to hear a UCLA alumni panel speak about their experiences post-graduation and their careers in the world of sustainability. You won't want to miss it!

5) Mentorship

Did you miss signing up for our mentorship program last quarter? Have no fear, our mentorship application is open again! If you are interested in either getting advice from a fellow undergraduate or mentoring one yourself, just sign up here! Sign ups are now rolling acceptance. 

(This does not apply to those who have applied last quarter, so the mentor/mentee pairs from last quarter will stay the same. Only people who haven't applied last quarter can apply and will get paired up.)
