1) Sustainability Management: UCLA Health System! (5/6)
When: THIS Tuesday, May 20th from 5-6 pm
Where: Student Activities Center, Basement Conference Room 3

Teresa Hildebrand will be coming to speak about her work and experience as the sustainability programs manager for the UCLA Health System.This is a really great opportunity to meet someone working in the field and have any questions you may have answered!

As the Sustainability Programs Manager, Teresa Hildebrand is responsible for developing and leading a comprehensive sustainability program for the UCLA Health System which includes the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, the Mattel Children’s Hospital, the Stewart and Linda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, and the UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. Teresa is currently coordinating the development of the hospital version Green Office Program and several recycling initiatives.

 

2) UCLA Cogeneration Plant Tour (TOMORROW)

When: Monday, May 19th at 3pm

Where: UCLA Cogeneration Plant (Facilities Building)

Join the UCLA Student Members of the American Chemical Society (SMACS) for an exciting tour of UCLA's very own natural gas power plant! You may have walked by the plant before without realizing it--it's the building behind the police station with steam rising from the top.

 

We will learn about how the co-gen plant combines heat and power production to reduce UCLA's reliance on fossil fuels. The tour will be hosted by Ms. Nurit Katz, UCLA's Chief Sustainability Officer.

3. E3's Farmers Market at UCLA (5/21)

When: Wednesday May 21st, 2:30-6:30pm

Where: Bruin Plaza


E3, USAC SWC and ASUCLA are proud to present the LAST Farmers Market of the year at UCLA! Stop by the market in Bruin Plaza on Wednesday, May 21st to support local and responsible farmers in the most delicious and healthy way possible!


Expect to see some delicious seasonal produce, nut products and dried fruits, as well as some student performers!

E3 will also be serving free Fair Trade coffee, selling reusable bags for $2, and collecting e-waste for recycling.

Don’t forget to bring cash!
