Dear Leah,

Happy New Year.
I'm hoping that you or Carthage will be able to attend the Earth & Space Science Informatics Summit in Rome, 13-14 March 2008. The meeting is for lead persons of the many geoinformatics bodies/programs that are springing up everywhere, but it will be very relevant and useful to have ICSU participation. Peter Fox, of course, will be there to speak about SCID developments.

Documentation about the Summit is at:   http://groups.google.com/group/essisummit

Best wishes,
Charlie

Dear Bernd,

Happy New Year.

Will you be able to attend the Earth & Space Science Informatics
Summit in Rome, 13-14th March? I do hope so.

Do you know anything about the program and objectives of the
Geoinformatics 2008 Conference, Potsdam, which follows in June? We
need to ensure that our meeting in Rome does not repeating what will
take place in Potsdam. Perhaps we will have an opportunity in Rome to
provide some basis for further discussion in Postdam. I would
appreciate your comments and recommendations.

Best wishes,
Charlie

Dear Alexei,

Sorry, I overlooked this email when writing to you earlier today. I'm delighted you can come and we welcome
Alexander Gliko. Below is an invitation. I am copying this to Bill in the hope he can help to cover your travel costs out of the NSF grant for eGY.

Any suggestions you have concerning the agenda for the meeting are most welcome. A list of convenient hotels is attached.

Best wishes,
Charlie
