Dear José,

Happy New Year.

The program and attendance for the Earth & Space Science Informatics
Summit in Rome, 13-14th March 2008 is shaping up well as a forum to
bring together the disparate geoinformatics initiatives and programs
that are sprouting everywhere (AGU, EGU, GSA, USGS, GEO/GEOSS, ICSU,
IUGS, IUGG ...).

But we need a stronger GEO presence. Can you participate and give an
invited presentation at the beginning of the meeting? It should be
fun. A draft plan for the meeting and a list of invitees is attached.
I have invited Eliot Christian and Jay Perlman but am not sure if
they are able to attend. The meeting is unfunded, so participants
must cover their own costs.

Best wishes,
Charlie
