2 December Events - 1 virtual and 1 in person!

I've mentioned this in class, but SFERO has meetings once a month,
at least. This month we have 2! The attachment has the official
invitations... and they specifically invite Stanford esperanto
students... that's you. :)

The first event is our monthly virtual chat. We've had some very
good talks, and people from around the world join us. We've even had
some "celebrities" (in the Esperanto world :) come and chat.

I know we always invite beginners to our meetings, even though the
level is usually medium to high. So, if you're a beginner, feel free
to arrive, say "Saluton" and then send me a text in the chat that
you're just going to listen. I can answer questions if you want. I
highly recommend listening to good spoken esperanto. The stuff you
find online runs from great to headslapping-bad.

The other event is IN-PERSON! Doctor ZAMENHOF's birthday is
December 15. That's a Friday, so we'll be having a "birthday
party"/lunch on Saturday December 16, in Emeryville. The attachment
has all the details.

There is a "new tradition" that we'll be following at this year's
ZAMFEST, which is to bring books to share. It's too noisy a venue to
do any presentations, but if you see a book that piques your interest,
it's a great excuse to start a conversation. :) So, come and join us
for the camaraderie. - It's a "food court", so lots of choices for
everybody.

I hope to see you at an event soon.

And don't forget that next week, December 5 is the last class of
this year. I'll send a message as soon as i know the room assignment
and calendar for next year.
