Salutojn!
SFERO will not be having the usual May backyard potluck on the first Saturday of May, the 3rd. Instead, we are forwarding this invitation to a concert in San Francisco, for Saturday May 3!
Why? Because 2 pieces in the concert will be poems of The Maestro, ZAMENHOF set to original music by a local Bay Area Composer (komponisto) James W. COOK.
What happened to the potluck? - That will take place, just
2 weeks later on Saturday May !7. (Announcement coming soon.)
REMEMBER, to be a VOTING Member of SFERO costs between $5 and $15 per year, plus any TAX DEDUCTIBLE (for now!) donations that you want to add. Go to
so that you'll be able to vote in our May 2025 election at the PotLuck!

Hello! / Saluton!
Especially if (though of course not only if) you are reading this, you are invited to the premiere of my new work Zamenhof Counterpoint by the San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra on Saturday, May 3, at 8:00 pm PDT at Old First Presbyterian Church in San Francisco.
This piece, for those who don't know already, is a setting of two poems in Esperanto by the creator of that language, L.L. Zamenhof, and includes overtone singing and other virtuosic vocal exploits that will be performed by Yifan Shao, an extraordinary singer and composer from China who--by the way--will also be presenting a work of his own on the same program (a work whose "theme" will be of no small interest to some readers!).
