Dear Esperanto Group - Madison, WI, 

It's awesome that you are in Wisconsin. I found you on a website* and I was amazed. If you know of any groups in the Milwaukee, WI area, with whom I can learn, speak, and even write, that would be awesome. Maybe, I could come to one of your meetings!

A little history of me, I was in Germany when I heard of the Esperanto language. I really tried to get to the Frankfurt am Main learning centre, but I just couldn't make it there. I was studying at the time. So, after a while being back in the U.S.A. I decided to go about learning it on my own. Well, that has gone, well, not as hoped. I think it would be great to learn it from an actual person.

So, other than that, I am really excited to find out about the Milwaukee area. If not I will try to find someone online with whom I can speak or even if one of you guys would like to come online and speak to me that would be great! Well, take care and have a good day! Bye!

Yes, definitely come to a meeting in Madison if you can make it. Unfortunately our usual meeting spot suffered a recent fire, so we’re meeting nearby at Cafe Zoma on Atwood Ave in Madison. Typically we meet the 2nd Saturday of the month, 4-6pm. Our next meeting will be April 14th. If you’re able to make it, you’ll likely recognize us by seeing the Esperanto dictionaries on the table (and likely hearing us talk in Esperanto).

I’m not aware of a local group in Milwaukee, but there are Esperantists in the area. Perhaps you can get a group started? If you can get just 1 or 2 other people interested, and setup a regular meeting time and place (I recommend monthly), then you may find that yet others find you. I’ll forward your message to at least one Esperantist I know is in that general area. You can also look for local Esperantists on the Amikumu smartphone app, lernu.net, maybe even Facebook.

Robert, I am from Milwaukee.  I only read Esperanto right now, I don't think I would be able to freely converse in the language.  If you are driving to Madison, let's ride-share; I'll chip in for gas money.  I think I would like to go only once.

Dear All,

Thank you for your message.  I love the idea of meeting all of you. However, April is not the month. However, May would be wonderful. I will put it down in the books! I would love to meet with you, Doug, just to get a look at Esperanto, for the seeing. I will talk with you on a private basis.
