Estas interesa artikolo en la New York Times (kopiita en la Sydney Morning Herald) pri la granda kreskado de konstruataj lingvoj.

Ĝi mallonge mencias Esperanton, sed implikas ke tio nur estis utopia furoro:

But none of the hundreds of languages created for social reasons developed as ardent a following as those created for movies, television and books, says Arika Okrent, author of “In the Land of Invented Languages.”
“For years people have been trying to engineer better languages and haven’t succeeded as well as the current era of language for entertainment sake alone,” Ms. Okrent said.

Jen mia respondo al Sydney Morning Herald:

 

Even though there is interest for invented languages like Klingon there are only very few people fluent in Klingon unlike Esperanto spoken by upto 2 million speakers. Esperanto is neutral as it doesn't belong to any country, it can be mastered in a reasonable amount of time. Many people find it very useful for travelling cheaply and for meeting locals on an equal footing.

 

Here in Sydney we had an Esperanto meeting last Sunday to celebrate Zamenhof's birthday. L. Zamenhof, who created Esperanto, was a Polish eye-doctor born on 15th December 1859. The celebrations in Sydney included singing Jingle Bells ...in Esperanto, hearing a report from the NSW Esperanto Federation who had a stand at the Travel expo last March, where lots of leaflets were given out to inform about the advantages of learning Esperanto. One of the Sydney Esperanto speakers is Dennis Murphy who is a professional puppeteer. For nearly 20 years he has entertained us with puppet shows that are not just for children.

 

It seems to me that there is a big difference between invented languages like Klingon and Dothraki and on the other hand Esperanto which can have very practical uses.

La artikolo pri konstruataj lingvoj en la SMH donas al ni la bonan ŝancon por respondi pri la pli bonaj kialoj ke Esperanto estis kreita kaj kiel ĝi daŭras kaj nun estas uzita tra la mondo ĉe UN, UNESKO kaj EU per multaj radioj tra la mondo kaj principe en Ĉinio ankaŭ persone per vojaĝantoj per PS.  Jam ekzistas naciaj asocioj en pli ol cent landoj. 
Kiom da personoj lernas gxin per Lernu.net kaj la numero de artikoloj en Vikipedio.

Ni ankaŭ devas mencii, ke ne ĉiuj konas pri ĝi cxar la lingvo ne havas la rimedojn de unu lando aŭ raso por subteni gxin, sed ĝi apartenas al ĉiuj homoj tra la tuta mondo egale.

Bedauxrinde, mi mem ne havas la tempon por respondi, cxar mi havas multaj aliaj Esperantaj taskoj por fari hodiaux kaj morgaux kaj la respondo devos esti tre rapida.  Ankaux multaj aliaj Esperantistoj povus fari gxin multe pli bone ol mi.

dankon al Jonathan (kaj malfruan bonvenon!) kaj Nicole pro la ligiloj.

ankaŭ mi opinias, ke estas malsameco inter (ekzemple) lingvo kiel
Esperanto kaj lingvo kiel Klingon kaj ofte homoj enfokusigas la
atenton nur al lingvoj kiel Klingon simple ĉar ja estas pli da tiaj
lingvoj ol lingvoj kiel Esperanto.

tamen, bedaŭrinde, mi estas pigrulo kaj ne respondis al la artikolo
por plue klarigi pri Esperanto.....
