PROGRAMA CIENTÍFICO DE APIMONDIA CHILE 2023

Ya está cargado en la web del congreso gran parte del programa de reuniones, simposios, sesiones de posters y presentaciones orales. Aproveche a hacer una selección de las presentaciones que desee escuchar o las actividades en las que quiera participar.

Nos llama la atención que no esté anunciada ninguna conferencia magistral, quizá lo concreten en estos días. Hemos visto en otras ediciones de Apimondia que esas conferencias magistrales son una excelente herramienta y convocatoria para los apicultores regionales. Estos habitualmente están lejos de los ámbitos académicos y reciben de muy buen agrado el panorama general de temas relevantes que los ayuden a mejorar su manejo, la sanidad de sus colmenas o las estrategias comerciales en una conferencia de al menos 45 minutos o un poco más.

El congreso propone exquisitos paseos para conocer la apicultura en las distintas regiones y paisajes chilenos, aprovéchalos. Estando en Santiago no deje de cruzar los Andes, pasar junto al pie del Cerro Aconcagua, la cumbre más alta de América y, ya en Mendoza (Argentina) un viaje de apenas 350km, puedes conocer un paisaje muy diferente, igualmente bello y un par de empresas apícolas, criaderos de abejas reinas (hay quienes trabajan con cepas ligustica, carnica, buckfast).

ARRANQUE ANTICIPADO DE LA TEMPORADA

Ya buena parte de apicultores argentinos están en Tucumán con sus colmenas en los plantíos de limón, otros arrancaron un poco antes en la provincia de Salta.

Por Entre Ríos Enrique Klauser nos comentaba que llevó colmenas a sembradios de Colza (Brassica napus) con muy buen aporte de polen pero nada de néctar, un tema crítico en este arranque de temporada donde el precio del kg de azúcar (para preparar jarabes) es mayor que el precio de la miel al productor. A donde hay disponibilidad, la alimentación e incentivación para la nucleada se está haciendo con jarabes de maíz que son hoy más baratos. Las lluvias que se esperaban en nuestra región por la prevalencia de "El Niño" no se están dando y el fenómeno climático se habría debilitado.

Temas como nutrición, polinización, manejo sanitario particularmente en el control de varroa, detalladas actualizaciones del mercado de la miel y otros. La revista impresa se distribuye en Argentina y algunas de sus ediciones impresas también están disponibles en comercios de España (La Tienda del Apicultor) y Chile (Agro-apicultura y Apícola Núñez).

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM OF APIMONDIA CHILE 2023

Almost the entire program of meetings, symposia, poster sessions and oral presentations is already uploaded on the congress website. Take a look on it to make a selection of the presentations you want to listen to or the activities in which you want to participate.

It strikes us that no master conference has been announced, perhaps they will materialize it these days. We have seen in other editions of Apimondia that these master conferences are an excellent tool and call for regional beekeepers. These beekeepers are often far from academic surroundings and very welcome the overview of relevant topics that help them improve their management, the bee health of their colonies or business strategies in a conference of at least 45 minutes or a little more.

The congress proposes exquisite tours to learn about beekeeping in the different Chilean regions and landscapes, take advantage of them. While in Santiago, take the opportunity to cross Los Andes, pass by the base of Cerro Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Americas, and once in Mendoza (Argentina) a 350km trip, you can see a very different landscape and equally beautiful and a couple of beekeeping companies, queen bee breeder farms (there are those who work with ligustica, carnica, buckfast strains).

EARLY START OF THE BEEKEEPING SEASON IN ARGENTINA

A good part of Argentine beekeepers are already in Tucumán with their beehives beside lemon plantations, others started a little earlier in the province of Salta.

From Entre Ríos province Enrique Klauser told us that he moved their colonies to rapeseed (Brassica napus) fields with a very good supply of pollen but no nectar, a critical issue at this start of the season where the price per kg of sugar (to prepare syrups) is greater than the price of honey. Where there is availability, feeding and incentive to make nuclei is being done with corn syrups that are cheaper today. The rains that were expected in our region due to the prevalence of "El Niño" are not occurring and the climatic phenomenon would have weakened.

ESPACIO APICOLA Magazine
