Lots of great discussion threads in this forum. I recently had a chance to work on an ESP8266 and some PIR+Temp sensors etc and completed the prototype after the teething troubles in getting the ESP8266 programmed with custom code. Kept a whole lot of notes and browser history as to the links and resources that were useful for me in this, while I have compiled here.
