Is QLogic 2690 supported?

Hello!

ESOS 1.3.9 doesn't display FC-targets for QLogic QLE2690 16Gb FC Adapter.

Is it supported in ESOS?

Try using a test/development image from the ESOS "master" branch --
this uses the newer Cavium/QLogic provided driver which supports 32 Gb
adapters. Although yours is a 16 Gb adapter, perhaps it has a
different PCI device ID / firmware / etc. and isn't recognized by the
in-tree driver.

Or check the output of 'lspci' in the 1.3.9 instance and ensure the
device is listed there before trying the new image.

Hi Marc, thank you for advice.

I tested on esos_comm-master_090fb26_dgvsq image and it works well, adapters detected as expected.

Did you plan to update driver in prod image?

Not in the 1.x.x branch. The 'master' branch will soon become the next
stable release branch.

How to enable 16G FC HBA Qlogic QLE2692 and QLE2694?

Dear ESOS community,

Since several years I am running ESOS in my home lab with Qlogic 8gb FC HBA.
I have tried to get 16gb FC HBA Qlogic series 2690 (2x 2692 from Cisco, 1x 2694 from Qlogic directly) running. Unfortunately ESOS does not show any targets with the new hba installed. Only the Qlogic 8gb models are being recognized.

I have already tried some 3.x versions, now trying esos-3.0.14_z.img without any success again. When trying master branch my both ESOS systems do not boot.

In the log file of the stable release 3.0.14 I have found the following statement:

        Merge branch 'scst_update'

        updated SCST to version 3.4.x/r8782; changed the '--enable-qla' build option to '--enable-qla32' as the QLogic 32 Gb FC driver is now included in SCST itself (no separate package needed)
       
How can I enable the 16gb/32gb support so that such HBAs are being recognized by ESOS?
Do I add this option with the install.vbs script in the zip file which can be download on the esos projects website?
Would this be the command to execute in the CLI?: install.vbs --enable-qla32

Sorry, I feel a bit lost, tried so many things so far until asking here. It would be great to upgrade FC environment onto 16gb data throughput.

You'd need to build ESOS from source. You can try using the other
QLogic driver (see "./configure --help" for details).
