Hi!
I want to change QLE2462 2port 4Gb FC Target to QLE2562 2port 8Gb FC Target.

I'm using ESOS 1.3.3_z custom build.

I'm test with QLE2562 but some stability was bad then rollback to QLE2462.

Here is a questions.

Q1. When I build a ESOS, ./configure with QLogic option is mandatory?
Current build was made with default option - Just only --enable_zfs.

Q2. What's the diffrence in default build option and QLogic option?

What does that mean exactly? You had stability problems and attributed
it solely to using a QLE2562 vs. a QLE2462? What kind of problems did
you have?

The '--enable-qla' build option for enabling the the QLogic-provided
target driver is what you're referring to I assume? If so, some years
back, QLogic developed a target driver for SCST (for their FC HBA's)
softly called the "Git QLogic driver". This driver was a bit closer to
their mainline initiator driver. There was quite a bit of stability
issues around this driver back then, so at that time in ESOS, we
elected to keep the default QLogic SCST in-tree target driver and
found it to be much more stable (the SCST developers and community did
as well).

So you can use this option to use the QLogic-provided target driver,
although I would not recommend it. Its still a dated driver without
nearly as much tested as the SCST-provided driver, and recently the
QLogic Git repo has been unavailable, so no one was fetched new
sources for this driver in quite some time.

Hope this helps.

Hi! Again!

About Q1.
When multiple VM svMotion execute, time-out error occurred.
I'm test again that include double checking my FCoE hardware configurations then eMail again...:)

About Q2.
Your answer is very clear that leads my question gone away...:)

P.S
During test, when I make a LUN device with same name like below SCST create same device name like eui.xxxxxxxx was appeared on my ESXi 6.5 host.
Is there any solution?

(example)

zfs create -s -b 128KB -s -o compression=lz4 -o dedup=off -V 900g Storage/ESOS01_LUN11

scstadmin -open_dev LUN11 -handler vdisk_blockio -attributes filename=/dev/Storage/ESOS01_LUN11,thin_provisioned,nv_cache=1

echo SCST_BIO > /sys/kernel/scst_tgt/devices/LUN11/prod_id

Hi!
Here is a good news...:)
After change to OM3 optical cable, all works successfully!
Maybe there are some problems in old OM2 optical cables.
I found some error counts on Brocade8000B FCoE switches.
I changed cables on FC port then all problems were gone ... :)

Thank you for your quick and exact support!
