The setup:

PowerEdge R620  Xeon E5-2637 dual core  192 GB  ram 2 x 500 GB SATA  PERC 5/e.
2 x MD1000 Enclosures, 13 1 TB SATA drives per enclosure. Currently 24 drives in RAID 50 with 1 hot spare per enclosure.

The raid configuration was from the last job it was doing and we're attempting to rebuild it from scratch with ESOS so we're not married to any particular RAID config going forward.

It is in UEFI boot  mode, I triple checked and my USB boot drive is a FAT32 drive and does boot fine on the two Dell desktops I tested it on before attempting to install it on this server.

I tried using "Deploy OS" going through the Lifecycle controller from a suggestion on another forum and I get "No Media Found" no matter which OS I tell it it is.

I tried the normal UEFI bios boot, it shows up just fine in the boot list, then after I select it I immediately get "Boot failed. Make sure you are using compatible boot media."

Any tips my fellow IT friends?

Thanks!

Ryan

Ryan, I am running on older hardware, a Dell PE 2950. I had a similar issue.  In the BIOS you probably need to force your USB stick to run as a hard drive instead of being auto-detected.

Is that an iDrac function? Don't see it in the regular bios.

Unfortunately I don't have a 620 local to me to test it out.
