Marc, I can see that there is no firewall but how people use it if they need connect to ESOS from internet? Any best practice?

I have two network cards on the server: one is for WAN and second is LAN. I would like to have WAN available for certain IP addresses only.

is it any  difficulties to add UFW package to the distro?

Adding a firewall into ESOS has been on the unofficial to-do list for
a while now, but I don't see that happening any time in the very near
future (certainly not in a stable release).

What about adding a security appliance device (eg, firewall)
in-between the WAN connection and your ESOS machine?

in that case we will need to use extra software or visualization and not every firewall will work efficiently on USB drive and adds complexity to the setup. 

I just though there is a straight forward command to enable something like UFW/iptables firewall in ESOS. It's a putty that this option doesn't exist and not planned in near future.
