How can I use iSER Target?

Hi! Marc!

I'm using your ESOS SRP target but this protocol is very ancient protocol that can't support multi-path optimization efficiently, logout from target, too.

I found ESOS can support iSER Target.

But ESXi can support Ethernet iSER no ESXi 6.0 only.

Here is question.

How can I enable Ethernet iSER Target?

I think IPoIB iSER Target support now because IPoIB port can support MTU 65535 (64k).

But Ethernet port work normal but RoCE wasn't.

Could you explain OFED verion on ESOS GIT?

How can I configure OFED module loading order?

Obviously SCST and everything is already installed in ESOS, so you can ignore those parts. Let us know how it goes.

Actually, I just looked and there is an issue... the isert-scst module was not being built (or loaded). I'm working on a fix now and will post a package to test with shortly.

I'm using ZFS, but your image seems doesn't include zfs support.

Hence I can't test with this image.

I have a system that consist of Mellanox SX6036G infiniband to ethernet gateway and bunch of CX-3 HCA.

I'll help you in my tiny lab.

At first we test that iSER target loading normal or not.

I'm so sorry for late reply.

Unfortunately, ESXi host driver for Mellanox don't support iSER initiator under PFC RoCE configuration.

Therefore I can't test your iSER target with ETH interface.

When VMware launch new inbox driver for Ethernet iSER initiator, I'll check it then reply to you.

No problem... I'm going to merge this into the development/release
branches sometime this week as its clear at least the iSER target
driver was missing which this resolves. If there are any remaining
fixes needed, we'll take care of them should they arise.
