This may be a stupid question, but is it possible to have iSCSI and Fiber Channel (WWN) initiators in one group?  We recently lost a fiber channel switch and I need to get the data back but don't want to remove the WWNs we already have in the groups. Can I add IQNs for my iSCSI interfaces to the existing groups that contain WWNs?

I assume you mean the host/security groups that you add your initiators to? If so these are specific to the target interfaces.

What you should do is create an iSCSI target in ESOS and make a new group on this target. Then on the initiator side you'll need to setup your iSCSI initiator and then you can add that into the target security group. Finally map the same devices you have in your FC target groups as same LUNs in your new iSCSI group.

This will give you the same storage devices you had via FC.

What are your initiators? ESXi?

Yep..  I have done that for the same reason..  Lost my fiber stuff in a house fire but saved the disks and was able to recover directly from the Luns with iscsi..

Thank you for the quick response... I'm not sure why it didn't hit me immediately, but the way I resolved this with the least amount of work with absolutely no reconfiguration was to just connect the HBA from one of the nodes in the cluster directly to the HBA on my ESOS box... that gave me access and I was able to retrieve my data...

The initiators are all Server 2012 boxes.
