This shrub is called the "Daatpadi" in the local marathi lingo.. would
love to get the scientific nameThe speciality of this shrub is that it has alkaloids which loosen the
gums when applied on it and makes extraction of the tooth almost
painlessWe had an incident some years back when some trekkers inadvertently
used the stick of this plant to stir their morning tea and found their
teeth falling off after a couple of hours !!This were captured on the way to Ghanchakkar which is a hillock near
the Ratangad fort overlookin the Bhandardara fortThere were quite many of these shrubs dotting the way right upto the topRegardsRavi
