I found a few interesting articles on SDN about possible collaboration-
related integration -
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/8054ecb8-1e2e-2a10-cfba-eb5a09a9e095

the code is here:
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-portalandcollaboration?rid=/webcontent/uuid/60310587-7881-2910-77a5-c2843d2bc7af

This might be another option to integrate ESME into the portal. This
isn't a deep integration but it might be a start.

What I thought was interesting was the source code that is present for the Microsoft Messenger integration. It is only about 30 lines of VBA code. That's it.
