Well, in Brazil there are Several wonderful places. We have Amazonia Jungle,
Pantanal Jungle in Mato Grosso do Sul state, Iguaçu falls and so forth.

Certainly, the most famous place in Brazil known out of Brazil is the Redentor Christ in Rio de Janeiro city,
maybe because its big international marketing, but of course, there are too many others nice place.

I will tell about the Iguaçu Falls.

Iguaçu falls located on the Paraná State, marks the border between Brazil and Argentine, there are aprox. 270 waterfalls
along more than 1 mile. On the Brazilian side there is a long walkway along the canyon is beautiful and enjoyable place.
Maybe someone that live next it can give us more information.

Hi Eduardo G.,

Nice idea. I will describe here one famous beach of Salvador. Before,
I have to say that Salvador is the capital of the Bahia state in
Brazil. I was born in a small city of Bahia and lived in Salvador for
some years. There many beaches there, but the most famous is Barra
beach. It is located very close to the city, but it is clean and very
good to swim. It is crowded the entire year, since this city is warm
even in the winter. In this beach there is a very old lighthouse that
was built by the Portuguese settlers. Currently, this lighthouse is a
museum and a restaurant. I really recommend you to visit this place.
It is very beautiful. Well, I put a photograph in Picasa I took last
year when I was there:

Yes the waterfall pics are stunning and the beach is also nice. That´s
the bad site of living in middle europe, we have no beaches and the
countries with beaches are not very lovely during winter.

That´s why the south american people have another, maybe even better
life quality with sun and public life.

the continental winter in europe is really cold and a lot of us are
waiting for the next summer , and during summer we are suffering
because of the heat and then most of us are awaiting the next winter.

Ok, we´re going skiing in the alps and in summer (and we have
sometimes extreme "tropical" summer) we going for a swim or whatever.

So what is my favorite place ??, I have several of them.

My hometown vienna, this town is very green, we have small "mountains"
up to 500m, a lot of wood and water and we have a long beach on a 16,5
km long island in the city, it´s called donauinsel

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vienna

The Danube Island came into existence in the 60-ties as a water
construction against floods. The right and the left river bed of the
Danube were created. At the non-flood season through the left bed the
water does not flow and therefore it is best suitable for bathing and
water sports. Asphalt paths for bikers interweave the whole Island and
the surrounding Danube shores. The cars have no access to the Island,
with the exception of the public parking place at the Reichsbrücke.
This Island is 200 to 450 m wide and 16,5 km long, from which are
approximately 3 km reserved for nudism and this in the southern part
of the island, where the nudist park is situated. The Danube Island
are crossing the successive Vienna's bridges over the Danube river.
Through every of the road bridges it is possible to reach the Island
by walking or on the bike. The left river bed are crossing small
bridges for bikers and the water is here surprisingly clean, at the
afternoon sun glow dark blue. The most of the Island is used
exclusively for recreation and the stressed Viennese are relaxing here
over the weekend. For the plants on the Island cares the Vienna's
Garden Service, so the whole Island has the character of a relaxation
park. On the left shore of the Danube river are some bicycle lending
offices. To hire a bike for the whole day will cost you something
about 25 EUR.

My hometown is Hangzhou, actually it's just belong to Hangzhou. Still,
it's difficulty for me to ignore West Lake if you ask me to introduce
some wonderful place in my place.
West Lake is so familiar with me that I just regard it as my big and
also luxury back jard, :D
When my college classmates browse my photos about West Lake they all
have to hold the impulse to wish only if I could walk around it!
however, it is advisable not to walk along the West Lake merely on
foot, for West Lake is too wide to walk. If I were you I would like to
rent a small but cute bike to company me. It won't cost much, just 10
Yuan per hour. (about $1) recently I learnt that there is another
"West Lake" newly built in Hangzhou.....may be after finishing my exams
I can go.
Um.... pictures always speak louder than word! So here are some photos I
take last year, in fact 2007 February.....

the next place is Longmen, it is near my parents' hometown, which is
an ancient sedate town. It is one of the few ancient towns that have
being perfectly reserved. So you would find many houses in poor
condition, everything was so old and poor. but many people still
settle their home in this town, especially the old.
If you've got tired with the stressful mundane city life, longmen is
the best choice to make you forget all of them!
Those photos were taken by me in August 2007

the last place I will introduce is Yandang Mountain, it is located in
Wenzhou where I am having my college life. Yandang Mountain is famous
for its countless mountains that are in different fantastic shapes,
besides, it has green, clean lake and water....
the time I visit there, is the season lack of rain, so we can't enjoy
the beautiful waterfall. Maybe only a little rain?
You also can found may temples there.....i don't know why all the place
that have water and mountains all own many temples.
I took those photos in October 2007.

Hi Saber,

You are pretty close to Shanghai, aren't you? Have you been there? It
seems to be a very interesting city.
