I read online texts everyday (although not so much as suggested on
today's Jeff blog). I try to understand the meaning of unknow words
by the context but I also look up interesting unknown words when I
have time (selectively). For doing this efficiently, I have my
browser Firefox specially setuped to lookup up the http://www.wordreference.com/ English dictionary. I mean, two clicks on the unknown word to select
it, and one additional clic to open a new tab with the results. I
also improve my vocabulary writing something like this or chating by
skype. Sometimes, when I need to express something properly I need to
look up the dictionary.

In fact, most of my textbooks is written in English. Also most lectures
are delivered in English.I think it helps me a lot.Because I have to
read the books and understand what the books mean otherwise I won't
pass the exam. English is a skill. It is a tool.
Maybe other circumstances exist. You are interested in English or the
culture behind this world wide language. I think for you lots of
reading is still a useful method to extend your vocabulary. In this
case, Pchamorro have given us a wonderful method to handle our
reading.
