Good evening all! I have a little guy here, Echo,  a pure eskie form the looks of it, who is about to be in a lot of trouble, pretty much because his temperament is pretty typical of a lot of little eskie boys. He had been in foster with a volunteer. my friend Marie, with the Hall Co Ga animal shelter,  a shelter i work with closely through my work with Angels Among Us. They adopted him out yesterday to a woman who told them she had experience with the breed and was not worried when he acted dominant with her Rottweiler. who she brought along to meet Echo before she adopted him. The woman said she could handle it, had done so before, so she adopted him. Well, as you can imagine, things did not go well and the woman is returning Echo to the shelter. Normally, if an animal is returned to this shelter they don't get a second chance for adoption, they serve 5 rural counties just outside of the Atlanta area and are slam packed most of the time. Marie has had 2 other returns and can only keep Echo with her in foster for a couple of days. I would beg Angels to take him, but we are fuller than full, and are scrambling for fosters for the new pulls and returning dogs. Now for the good news. Echo is young, about a year or two I believe, he is fully vetted, including neuter and microchip. I am assuming he is HW negative as well, otherwise they would have mentioned it to me. Their adoption fee is $85 and that covers everything. He has been out of the shelter for more than 2 weeks, so would be good to go to most any rescue or adopter. They do allow their dogs to go out of state, and I have close ties with this shelter, so I could help. AAU loves pulling from this shelter as they have a great on site vetting staff and for the most part, we get healthy animals from them. I would foster him myself for AAU if I had a single spot to put him in. If any of you out there could possibly take this little one in, please let me know and I can put you in touch with the shelter. If any questions I can also be reached on my cell, 404-316-4597. See forwarded message below.A pic is attached

Hopefully, you can edit the part with my dirty knee in it.  I've been working with fish tanks all day at home and kneeled in water from a dirty filter.  LOL!

Echo is a good and energetic young man!  He is around 2 years old and weighs 16 pounds.  He came into the shelter with some mats near his tail, so we gave him a lion cut.  He is housebroken and crate-trained.

Echo's disposition is very much that of a typical spitz.  He can jump onto a 4' retaining wall in one leap.  He loves to play and is very mouthy so he wouldn't be the best fit for a family with small children.  Echo does well with other dogs as long as they are stable.  He is more than happy to "talk to you" if there is something he wants, like attention or he needs to go to the bathroom.  This little man can run for hours.  He is a bit protective of his food with other dogs so we usually feed him inside his crate.

I can be reached at (770) 337-6892 if anyone has any questions about this sweet boy.

Thank you so much!

Marie

An update on little Echo. Marie has informed me that the shelter would most likely do an agency transfer for Echo due to his circumstance, meaning they would not ask for the $85 they would normally charge a rescue. But if they, by chance, did charge it there is a a woman who would provide sponsorship, so still no cost to the receiving rescue :-)
