Hi,

I would like to suggest - after legalising the trust & site is launched, we can give advertisement about the trust in one of the famous newspaper. I think that is the easiest way to get publicity..........

Thanks,
Hiral

It is a good suggestion. It may cost some money, but still it is a
very good method to spread a word about the trust. This should be done
only at specific periods of the year like just before admissions or
just after the exams, I think. It could even be published at other
better times as suggested bby others.

Yours

Hareshkumar

there is one more idea:
we can post our advertisement in some non-profit organizations such as
www.pharma-world.org and in turn we will post their add or links in
our websites - a win-win situation. .. ...what u say abdul?
secondly, we got to find out some non-profit organization for
collaboration. .. ...its better to work in collaboration to get some
publicity!
BUT. .. ...important thing for this will be some practical eg of our
usefulness. .. ...some success!!!

well, we will do brainstorming first here and then we will freeze our
ideas and will ask volunteers to approach the specific organizations
(depending upon their contacts) to get some publicity
so first only ideas!!- - ---whom to approach, where to place ads in a
economical way, which websites are frequently visited by our target
mob!!!
etc

Surely Link exchange is the thing most of the websites use for promotion and to get good placement in search engines.
It would be a pleasure to do link exchange with this trust.
But ,one more thing is that we want to target the exchange with pharma sites or with other general entertainment and other stuff sites also ??
We have currently most members from pharma field, but we will be having members from all areas soon , so i think we must have a eye on all the possible websites for the link exchange and advertisement option

yes abdul:
so we should certainly find out some other non-profit organizations
and list them under this thread
and later on we can ask volunteers who can approach them for
collaboration

In the starting phase we would be needing links from few sites that are having a Alexa ranking of under 10000 in India (or around 200000 in world)[visit www.alexa.com to know more about website ranking] .
and unfortunately NGO's websites dont have ranking so high normally and so we need to have some exchange with sites offering other legal stuff , we can also promote this in various communities over Orkut and may be a community of our own can b formed there too.

Right this is also one of the possibilities to promote the Trust on
Facebook, Orkut, etc...

I guess, it wont be a bad idea to make a google gadget of our website
where "events and activities" of our trust will be
highlighted. .. ...that way we will keep our members regularly
updated!!!

by the way, I changed the settings of our group
now "Anybody can view group content" earlier only the members were
able to view it which could have hampered our progress. .. ...now
everyone visiting group will know the kinda activities goin on in the
group and if they feel interested they can send request to join!

But this way it would be difficult to control spams.
They will get in very easily....i had intentionally ket it locked for
non-members

If this is the case, so the approval should be only by the manager who
know the requester personally otherwise not....

they can only view. .. ...read only access. .. ...its not spam. .. ...its jst opening up the book and no one other than member can post anything!
hope this clears  your doubt

dear Dr Kirti... i was already clear abt this.... but i think u did
not understood me. After viewing the content.... there can be requests
for memberships from spammers (they wont tell you that they are the
spammers)... right..... if some of our managers approved the
requests....it could be dangerous/..... anyway ... then i suggested
another solution.. its fine if u have now given access to the content
of our group...but in that case, the approval should only be done by
the manager who know the requester personally otherwise not....

I think this time i m more clear.... isn't it kirti?

well, managers are supposed to approve the membership of only those persons who are genuinely interested or to whom they they know in person!
isnt that the case now?
If not then I am sorry, I was assuming this scenario. .. ...
