E. We can also convince Tata, Reliance, Birla, LN Mittal, etc
for sponsoring or donating huge bundles of money if approached in a
right way by a group of right people with all the right documents in
hand. Believe me it is very possible as we all come from the most
premier institutes in the world, our impact will be many folds.

sorry for the repeat post.. I should have had posted this message
under this head rather than under "Brainstorming- How to convince
sponsors for getting ads to our website "

better, we should also start listing the prospective
sponsors. .. ...so in the end we will be more organized!!!

Tata, birla, reliance, already have there own foundations for such works, so it would be a bit difficult to collect fund from them.
so better we should concentrate of the second line businessmen from India or the NRI's

Once our website is up, and provided we have some success at early
stage, we can approach some of the premiere institutes of india such
as NIPER, IIScs, NCL, ISRO, IICT for their "job adverts" or "Entrance
exam adverts". .. ...as most of us (members) would like to go back to
india and moreover, these institutes are also looking for the highly
trained/skilled employees. .. ...so I guess it should not be difficult
to attract and convince these institutes for placing their ads on our
website!!!

Can my dear founder tell me one thing how much budget we actually looking for initial formalities .... Like purchasing domain over www , registering site , launchng expense ... Correspondence expen and some other miscellaneous etc ... Etc... Can we have little brain on this aspect also .... As i find this as most important ... Because once this is done getting money from external sources will be easier ... And will require less efforts also ....

yes, vijay is right. .. ...and i guess suresh might be the right
person as he has a more overview of all activities! (as far as my
discussions with abdul are concerned regarding the website/domain
registration we think the expenses should not be more than 20€ per
annum)

But before that we need to ask ourselves what minimal objective we
want to achieve in the first year eg are we planning to provide flight
charges to atleast one bright student or are thinking to sponsor some
6 months fellowship to some student? etc and for that purpose I also
made a brainstorming thread of setting up objectives. .. ...it will be
good if we will focus on this and freeze the ideas on that thread
ASAP. .. ...as this will be the bottleneck in our plans. .. ...

so plz use diff thread to address what kinda short term objective we
are looking for!!!

By the way, our objectives will decide how much money we are looking
for!!!

Kirti , i like your very idea of providing the air tickets and initial 6 month scholarship ... Because most of the time we saw that people get admission but they don't get scholarship for first 6 months or year .. And there they fing themselves in difficutl situation ... And happens with almost every one nowadays i am seeing ... This will be of great help  to these people ... It will really fill that niche which deterrs most of the poor people to get higher education ....  And i would also bring to surface the idea of loan endowment ... That when people receive scholarship they have to return it once they become on their own .. It will obviously without interest ... And it will again can be given to other needy student ... So we will have that money rolling .... Which will solve the very purpose this trust and will have eternity .... Which will always be filled by money in to its cash account by some rich, and philanthropist people on regular basis to cater the large no of needy student .......

Sorry for the delay in responding,

Kirti is right, at the most Rs1200-1500 per year for the website
domain, about Rs 2000 for registering the website (I guess we should
add Rs 1000 more for vitamin R for getting the Trust to the
registration stage). That's all i think at this stage.

About sponsoring flight tickets for students and / or 6-months
scholarship...we cant do anything like that before we have some money
from membership charges. I am still doubtful; it might be difficull to
do so even after having in hand the membership fees from about 30
people (average - Rs 12000/- only). So, either we will have to
increase the no. of members or/and membership fees or/and attract some
sponsors without any acheivement in hand (which seems difficult).

The most favourable option is increasing the number of members.... so
keep inviting the people supposed to be contributing.

Please post views and suggestions.... This is very urgent... so please
spend some time on this group to help out its smooth functioning.

About raising money,

I know some of the people involved in some well developed Trusts like
Emmanuel College Cambridge(India) Trust (http://www.emmaindia.com/
ecit.htm), oxford and cambridge society of india (http://
www.oxbridgeindia.com/). I'll try to speak to one of them and try to
get some information about how they have raised money......and also
can they be of any help to us in any way. Let's hope for the best.
