mines on its way back

its way too overpriced

the price is dropping fast on this item and I know why

Have you ever got excited about something purchased an item, opened upped the box and within
seconds you became extremely disappointed about it. This was THAT item for me.

1) its MASSIVE did I forget to say its MASSIVE (oversized, bulky, and heavy)
about 3 times the size of the old one
good luck on the small jobs'
they pulled out the bedazzler , and went nuts forgetting what the tool originally was A great simple diagnostic tool

2) battery cable clamps are all plastic and why is the plug from clamps to wiring so damn big ?
for this money I certainly expect more, I'm afraid to drop them and we all know that gonna happen

3) you will never be replace your old Powerprobe unless your only using it for firing off missles or powerplants
way too bulky, large cables become cumbersome, and no extension for the cord

4) its a basic set in a enormous fancy bag with a big price that will eat your toolbox space for lunch
you get the probe and a small bag of connector doo dads, and a owners manual, cd
ohh don't forget the shameless self promotion sticker!!!

5) it may do more.....
save your money buy the power probe 3, nice voltmeter, get a amp meter make some electrical adapters
and be done with it.

6) but also does less....
can't use a cigarette adapter for power/ground
no extension cable for power/ground
cord is thick and becomes bulky fast and is cumbersome
so big you cant get under dash in tight areas
if you have smaller hands forget about it
or if your left handed
also you can only read amps powering up a circuit so that worthless to me as I want to check while in service
there no substitute for voltage drop on power and grounds It wants to read resistance on grounds

7)if you need to power up a space station
this maybe the tool for you otherwise its overkill
after I bought it I asked myself why do I need up to 50 amps of trigger and have this bulky thing
if I can't find and fix a power feed / distribution problem to the circuit I'm in the wrong business
and I can use the old powerprobe to diagnose that, and if I door an old pair of jumper cables will work

so back in the box it went sorry Mr Power Probe you need to go back where you came from
your overpriced, oversized, and forgot your great roots of where you came from

Power Probe Hook

This thing is great. It super heavy duty, the headlight on it is twice the size of the power probe 3. There are tons of functions that come with this tool and a very easy to follow manual, also comes with a dvd aswell. Power Probe out did themselves with this tool. It is a must have for trouble shooting electrical problems.

Failed on second use

I had great hopes for this tool, but it failed on the second use. I've had the power probe 3 for years and have been completely happy with it. The hook however is bulky, and failed on the second use. I did call power probe directly and they have offered a repair, but as of yet, it still sits in its case un-useable.
