I am sending this email to inform you that my younger brother Abhishek Barve was diagnosed with blood cancer (Acute Lymphatic Leukemia) in year 2006 and was treated with chemotherapy at that time. While completing the maintenance period after treatment, he was diagnosed again with the same disease on 22nd June 2010. He is currently admitted in " Sahyadri Speciality Hospital, Karve Road, Pune" for the treatment. According to doctor's advice we have to go for bone marrow transplant, as chemotherapy is not the option left in this case. Unfortunately we could not find any bone marrow match in the family so we have to look for the match outside the family. Total estimated expenditure for finding the match and surgery will cost us around 40-50 lakhs which is way out of reach of our family.

We are currently approaching trusts, social institutions to arrange our financial need. We cannot go for surgery unless we deposit required amount in hospital's account. Apart from the surgery, his current treatment (chemotherapy to control growth of cancer cells) and tests to find bone marrow match are costing us additional 50000 to 60000 INR per day. I will be thankful if I can get any sort of financial help for my brother's treatment. I am attaching the medical certificate from Dr Shashikant Apte (Medical in-charge of this case) for your reference.
