Saraswati Vidya Mandir students excellent performance in the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations , Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Boys outshone girls in the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations, the results of which were declared on Sunday.
Anupam Jena of Cuttack Saraswati Sishu Mandir is this year’s topper. He has secured 576 marks. Apart from Jena, 65 boys are in the top 100 while 19 have been placed in the top 30 list.
According to the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Orissa, the performance of private schools has been much better than various government schools in the state. 18 students of Saraswati Sishu Mandir’s have secured ranks in the top 30 list.
This year, nearly 4, 23, 758 students had appeared the
matriculation examination. Out of which, 2, 91,568 regular students cleared the examination while 29,678 ex-regular students passed the exam. The total pass-percent in the matriculation examination stands at 71.74 percent.
Nuapada district recorded the highest pass percentage of 85.61 % while Malkangiri the lowest with 32.97 % in the state.
Meanwhile, State School and Mass Education Minister Pratap Jena has said that lack of adequate teachers and infrastructure are the main reasons for the under-performance of various government schools in the state.
The students who have been placed in the top 10 positions are:

5. Sandeep Ku. Mohapatra of Puri Zilla School (569 marks).
6. Anil Tanaya Panda of Soro Radhanath Bidyapitha (568 marks).
7. Samapika Acharya of Bolangir Saraswati Vidya Mandir and Subhranshu Dhir of Talcher Thermal High School and Priyabrat Pradhan of Talcher Dera Colliery High School (567 marks).
8. Chandan Ku Dash of Barapali Saraswati Vidya Mandir, B. Guptesh of Gosaninuagaon Saraswati Vidya Mandir and Monalisha Sahoo of Pachhikote High school and Pratikshya Mohapatra of Udala Govt High school secure (566 marks).
