I reticently upgraded my PC from an AMD Phenom II X4 940 (circa 2009) to an i7 5820 K 6-core beast, in my new PC Frenzied excitement I have misplaced the Email with my Activation code for my Cubase Software that came with my UR22 USB Audio interface. I am pretty sure it was a download linked from an Email with an Activation code that was sent to me via E-Mail.
How do I go about getting my activation code so I can RE-install the software on my new PC? I am able to log into my Steinberg account and download the software,(CuBase AI8) from when I registered the product but I have found no information on retrieving my Key.
My Gratitude and thanks in advance for any help!
i need a Register eLicenser / software & Enter Download Access Code
there is no Soft-eLicencer to reactivate
when i click on Register i have no eLicence Registration Number
I need a download access code
my hardware is Registered
I do not have a USB-eLicencer
Do you still have your old PC with the Elicencer Control Center installed? If so open it on your old PC and write down the number of this soft-elicencer and register it to your mysteinberg account. You probably never did register it on your account. Thats why there is no elicencer to choose for reactivation.
So what now Mr Martin.Jirsak ? the eLC was in no way help full as i formatted my original Hard drive the eLC is Showing Limited Licence for MP3 Encoder and Cubase AI 8. Is that what was intended for the software i received originally is a Limited use? and it says it Expires on 2016-06-25 so a few weeks?
I miss understood what you were asking.
Thankyou for your assistance thus far. You are Greatly appreciated.
But if i could offer a suggestion?
Try being a little more descriptive? You have been doing this for how long? and how long have i been trying to get help? I am patient my friend what ever it takes to get this situation resolved i will try to make this process as easy as possible but i can not by my self.
***** The eLicencer Tab on the my products page says NO PRODUCTS FOUND ON THIS eLICENCER *****
I have only ever purchased the UR22.
I have never used an Elicencer for any other products let alone the Cubase software.
As the UR22 (serial Number) was registered last july I do not remember if i registered the software. I think i opened it 1 time.
In December of 2015 I formatted the hard drive CUBase was installed on.
I have also sense searched exstensively and i am certain I deleted the Email that they sent the activation key, which I think i recall it stating that it was a one time use if i am not mistaken?
So can you send me a new Activation key?
If I am unable to get a new Activation Key because I did not register the software properly that is my fault, and i will Sell my UR22 for $75-80 and Buy a New one to get a new Copy of the software.
Please forgive me.
Sometimes it is hard for me to convey my thoughts having suffered to many concussions in my youth.
Myself, I cannot send you an Activation Code. There are some options:
A) You already got it (via mail).
B) You can get it from your MySteinberg account. I would say, this is the most likely one.
C) You have to ask official Steinberg Support to get it.
I'm hoping someone can help me here. Just bought myself a Steinberg UR22 Mkii interface and I'm having an issue with Cakewalk only showing 1 channel available, which doesn't even let me record in stereo. Its meant to be a 2x2 USB channel interface. So far its only allowing me to record one channel in mono. Both inputs work BUT only in mono. It plays back in stereo so as far as I can tell its working fine. I'm assuming it has something to do with cakewalk not recognising the channel as stereo?? It gives me the options to choose left, right and stereo but again, only recording the left channel regardless. All new drivers installed and had a firmware update also.
In addition to selecting the input(s) make sure the track interleave is set as needed. Depending on the theme the interleave may not appear the same as the image in documentation. The interleave button is just above the "E" in this image
Thanks for the response. You are 100% correct with the naming of the channels. My issue is that for some reason when I do select the stereo channel, I only get sound through the left. I definitely have interleave on stereo I thought of that too.
Guys, worked it out, my bad. This is what happens when you stay up 16 hours with not enough sleep in between haha. The unit works fine. It records stereo when both channels have an input going. Otherwise it's mono for each channel.
I always record a left and right mono, when recording things like synths, because I like to add slightly different effects settings between the two channels, usually delay, as it fills out the sound nicely.
But yes - you have it correctly worked out now - one of my interfaces is the same as yours, and it indeed works that way, as do most audio interfaces with a left and right input. (actually every single one I have ever encountered).
The problem I'm having is I actually can't monitor my gear in stereo. I can only hear mono while recording. The tracks play back in stereo as I'm recording to two tracks panned left and right but I can't hear the stereo until after I've recorded the track.
While you are recording you can set the MIX pot in the UR22mk II. Conterclockwise let you the hear audio from the sources connected to input 1 and 2, and it should be stereo (input 1 left and input 2 right).
I just bought an A&H zed-24 console to run all my synths, samplers and drum modules through so I think I'm going to try monitoring the Steinberg back through the board instead of directly from the interface.
For years I just used a two channel interface to monitor my audio source and playback from my DAW but now that I have the board I guess it makes more sense to monitor my audio and playback from the interface all on the board.
I also recently bought a used Tascam US-1800 16 track interface to use with my notebook for recording live bed tracks outside my studio. I might try setting both the Tascam & Steinberg together on my main system just to see if I can do it
So, it looks like the device is recognized and the drivers installed on their own. I still don't hear any audio, though, even with input monitoring enabled. I have the device in the Left channel on the Line In/Out tab.
once installed check in windows sound and make sure it is now the default device. You can click on the speaker icon in the lower right screen.
Then open Cakewalk and preferences Audio and choose ASIO mode
If your not sure how to post screens shots. Use the Windows key and the PrtScn key and this will save the screenshot to your Pictures folderin a folder marked screenshots. Just drag and drop them to the Drag files here at the bottom, it will turn blue.
If ASIO4All is gone, it should be possible to select the Yamaha ASIO driver in Preferences > Audio > Devices as long as Preferences > Audio > Playback and Recording "Driver Mode" is set to ASIO.
Update: I got the 'silent buses detected' message to go away after rebooting the program, and I am now able to put the Steinberg in the Master. I have it active in the Left channel and I can see the meters moving. I don't know why, but still no audio. Getting to be a real bummer!
The front of your interface as in the picture below you should have the MIX control in the center and plug some headphones in to check. Do not use input echo or you will hear a delayed signal. Always use your interfaces direct monitoring system via the MIX control to avoid hearing your systems Round trip latency when recording audio tracks. You will use input echo when recording VST instruments only.
Your monitors must be plugged into the 1/2 output jacks of your interface. You cannot use on board audio for playback in ASIO mode. If all you have is computer speakers you will have to plug them into the headphone jack of the interface with an adaptor.
You almost there just a few more steps and you'll be up and running smoothly. The Steinberg is a very good interface with good ASIO drivers. You did download the latest didn't you? Make sure to get the Windows version. Their driver page is kind of weird to get at, took me through 4 pages first.
The 'no sound' thing is probably the ASIO mode thing, then. I will need to get some adapters. With 'Record Latency Adjustment,' are you talking about the 'Record Timing Master' in Driver Settings? That looks like it's as it should be.
Another question since I am considering upgrading my system. I have been trying to find the weakest spot in my setup, and I guess it is my audio interface. I am currently using a Steinberg UR22 MKII, which is a USB2. My laptop has a USB3 port as well.
