The Peace Corps will celebrate its 46th anniversary during Peace Corps Week,
February 26 through March 4, 2007, in commemoration of March 1, 1961 when
President John F. Kennedy signed an Executive Order establishing the agency.
Since then, more than 187,000 volunteers have served in 139 countries.
