Hi!

I have a fundraising idea for the group's consideration. Time permitting, let's discuss at the meeting.

As you know, there are many MSB professors who do not like laptops in their classrooms. This forces students to print out all the readings and course materials bring them to class.

One thing that has worked very well for me is to get all my class readings bound into a book. It's cheap, convenient, and you don't have to keep track of a bunch of loose paper. Kinkos will do this for $5 or $6.

See http://www.fedex.com/us/office/binding-finishing-laminating.html  (coil binding works best).

When my peers have seen my coil-bound books, they have been very interested, and always wanted to know where they could get one.

What if ESGA offered this as a service to students? We could charge enough to make it worth our while ($10, $12, etc).

It would cost us nothing. The students would print all their own materials, then we would take them to Kinkos and get them bound.

In other words, we would not be in the printing business. We would only be in the binding business (as the middleman).

There would be logistical issues to consider, such as transporting all the paper to Kinkos and back.

Is this a workable idea? Is it a service that students would pay us for if we market it well?
