Hi ESGA -

I hope you are enjoying your time off!

I wanted to give a shout out to Stu and Matt who are graduating this Friday! Thanks for all the work you guys have done over the last few years for the EP program and especially your involvement on ESGA.

We haven't had an ESGA meeting in a while, but our next meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday, 5/21. I am excited to see you!

I also wanted to bring your attention to next week's EP14/15 Town Hall discussion with Dean Romanelli (see email below). The program office has been talking about scheduling one of these to try to provide an opportunity for the EP students to see who they are and provide a platform for feedback; however, never got around to putting it on the calendar. I had been receiving a lot of complaints from my EP14 peers over the last few weeks on different policy changes, professors, program office communications, etc. It seemed like a bunch of things were really getting underneath people's skins to the point where, in some cases, they were no longer enjoying their experience here at Georgetown. I had a long talk with Dean Romanelli and highlighted a timeline of recent events that have really put the EP14s in particular in bad spirits.  We decided a Town Hall was appropriate to try to answer student's questions and provide them with a physical person/team to which they can voice their complaints/suggestions. I also think this might give Romanelli and her team a chance to defend/answer questions on things like the new overloading policy, etc. I would encourage you to attend as it should be interesting to see what our peers have to say -- try to stay positive and encourage your peers to attend.

Upcoming Events:

5/20 - Monday 5:00-6:30 Dean Romanelli's EP14/15 Town Hall (Dinner will be served!)

5/21 – Tuesday 5:40-6:30 ESGA Meeting

6/1-- Saturday 7:30-9:30, VP Social, Boomerang Boat Cruise

6/3 – Monday 5:40-6:30PM ESGA Meeting

Feel free to reach out to me this week if you have anything you want to discuss!

Cheers,
Jannette

Subject: Invitation for Dinner - EP Town Hall Monday May 20th
To: EP...@lists.msb.edu

Dear EP Students,

We are coming to the end of a year of many changes: the administrative
merger of the EP and FT programs, the start of a new curriculum that
affected you in different ways.  I have been in close touch with our
student leaders throughout the year, but I would like to hear more
generally from all of you--your questions, concerns, and suggestions.

Please join me if you can on Monday, May 20th in
Fisher Colloquium for an EP Town Hall.  We will have some dinner ready
to go at 5pm and will start the discussion at 5:30.

If you cannot make this evening, please feel free to share your
thoughts by email.

I look forward to hearing from you.  We will be working hard all
summer to keep improving our programs and services.  Your voice
matters.

Elaine Romanelli
