Dear Alton,
Great to see it coming together.
The Flyer is great, and the survey attached with our (minor) comments. As it will be online, on the Web, we thought it needs to invite schools in general (although most likely, it will be mainly ASPnet members answering).
As soon as the flyer is translated, we can send it out and then publish it with the online survey on our Website, linking to yours.
What’s next?

Dear Sabine, it is me again. Please see email below. Now, I have attached the a first draft of the mini survey for ASPNET schools earlier than projected. It is only 10 questions and most of them have options to select from. Kindly share your comments. We will need to translate in at least three languages and prepare the online forms.
Please let me know when next week we can have a short follow-up meeting after we send the flyer. I am out of office this Friday and next Monday. With my kindest regards, Alton

Dear Sabine, thanks for this resume. It is for Global MIL Week 2018, yes this year. We could still have the poster contest but perhaps we might reconsider the prize. The purchase of tickets for adults will not be too difficult but for young persons it could be a challenges. Let keep talking about the Poster Contest.
We will proceed with preparation of other material for the two priority actions and the Save-the-Date email. Marco, will send the Save-the-Date by tomorrow.

Dear Alton and Xu Jing,
Thank you for the productive brainstorming!
As discussed, we could mobilise ASPnet schools around “MIL Week” for
Through the above, they can participate in a global contest and win participation in a MIL conference (from every winning school, we would invite 1 student, 1 teacher and their National Coordinator). We will share costs for 3 winning teams (9 persons) and ASPnet would fund one team.
Here I got however confused – is it for this year’s or next year’s conference? Because for this year, we wouldn’t have enough time to mobilise schools, get their projects, select and invite and fly people to Lithuania, all before end of October?
I look forward to this clarification, and to hearing from you once ideas and concrete proposals for activities and “slogans” materialize, notably when our GCE colleagues are back.
We could in the meantime send a kind of “Save the Date” message to the National Coordinators to get MIL Week on their radar, if you send us a short draft message.
Attached, as promised, the documents related to World Radio Day 2017 and to the arts contest on refugees (for which we had foreseen a national pre-selection, by the National Coordinators/National Commissions!).
Best regards
Sabine

Dear Alton,
Thank you for the invitation to cooperate around this important subject.
We stand ready to mobilize the UNESCO Associated Schools Network to participate in local or global online events, to identify students who could attend the Latvia Youth Forum or to propose special school-level activities to ASPnet, around the materials (guides and MilClicks site) which we disseminated last year.
I will also be away on holidays soon but we could meet for a quick chat next week, and then with Lydia and colleagues end of August.
Best regards
Sabine

Dear Dov, Edem, Lydia, Sabine, and Karel,
I hope that you are well. We are inviting the cooperation of the Education Sector in any way possible on the upcoming Global Media and Information Literacy (MIL) Week celebrations in October.
We have all spoken in one form or another about deepening cooperation on MIL between the two Sectors. Dov, you were briefed by my colleague Tim Francis, during a recent meeting of the PVE intersectoral working group.
Global MIL Week offers a real opportunity to do something concrete together. There are essentially four components of the Week:
You can see more on the official website here, https://en.unesco.org/globalmilweek2018.
Please see also attached a letter that was sent from the former DDG to the ADG/ED. My Chief, Mirta Lourenco, is copied here.
We would be most grateful to hear from you or to talk more about the possible involvement of the Education Sector. I wish you all a super wonderful weekend. With my kindest regards, Alton
