- An attempt to view any PDF file locks up DOPus, forcing a Task Manager [End Task].
- File Explorer fails to view PDF, but does not lock up.
Sometimes you may have multiple viewers and one takes over the extension from the other. The last you install usually wins. You can move the extension around in the plugin config window shown above, but it only affects Opus, not other software that may use the same viewer (File Explorer, Outlook).
On older versions of Opus, we would also try to view PDF files via Internet Explorer. If the Internet Explorer line in your config window has the pdf extension on it, you may be using an old version. Unless you added it back to that line on purpose. (If so, the IE-based viewer is now crashing. File Explorer won't use IE-based viewers, which may be why it is failing instead of crashing.) The Defaults button at the bottom left will reset everything to normal.

File has only one XRef section, which describe all objects in file, so this entry is optional. /Size entry is correct, since document has objects with maximum number 185, but /Index entry say that it has only 185 records instead of 186 required, and XRef stream itself does not contain record about last object (185, XRef stream itself). Normally this does not prevent PDF files to be opened by most readers, but does not conform PDF specification.

I am a local admin on my laptop but when I am trying to open pdf file from Outlook and I have Pdf xchange editor as my default pdf app I am getting "Your administrator caused Windows Security to block this action. Contact your help desk." error. It works when you save it first locally. It also works opening pdf straight from Outlook when I use Adobe Acrobat as my default pdf app.

If you are experiencing an issue where PDF-XChange Editor cannot open directly from Outlook, first check that the PDF-XChange Editor is the default PDF viewer in Outlook. If it is not, you can set it as the default viewer by going to File > Options > General > Advanced > Use PDF-XChange Editor as the default PDF viewer. If this does not work, you may need to reinstall PDF-XChange Editor. Additionally, you can try resetting the Outlook settings, as this may help resolve the issue.
I have an Issue when working with PDF X-Change Editor Plus on the mounted X:\ Drive of Boxcryptor. When I make changes to the pdf and save it the file becomes corrupt and I can't open it anymore. It says: 'pxclib required value not found pdf x-change'
When I do the same thing on a 'normal' drive it works well.
Is this a problem related to Boxcryptor or is it an Issue with PDF X-Change Editor in how they save and Open/Load/Reload the Document. I notice that right after saving the editor is in a frozen state for some seconds - which is not the case when saving to a normal folder.
