Sorry for any inconvenience, but I'm in a terrible situation in Manila, Philippines. I am humbly writing to you requesting a loan of ($1,850) or any amount you can afford to settle my outstanding bills.

I called my bank for a wire transfer but it has proven almost impossible to operate my account from here as they made me understand international transactions take 7 working days to be effective which is absolutely unfavorable.

I am slightly hurt and lost valuable properties to burglars. I will reimburse you soon as I return. My luggage is still in safe custody of the hotel management pending when I make payment. I will appreciate whatever you can assist me with. Let me know if you can be of help. All hopes on you.

Dear All,

I received a similar email in 2012.

Kind regards,
