Dear ESA community, 

 

We write to remind you about the first ESA Africa Regional Conference, which will take place on 14-15 December, 2023, at the Graduate School of Business, University of Cape Town, South Africa. 

 

There will be a welcome reception during the evening of 13 December, and the conference proper will start on 14 December. 

 

The conference website is: https://uctcmc.eventsair.com/esa-africa-regional-conference. It provides information on submission and registration, accommodation, and travelling and exploring Cape Town (and the rest of the Western Cape), among other things.  

 

The keynote speakers are Sule Alan (https://sulealan.com) and Bertil Tungodden (https://sites.google.com/view/bertiltungodden/home). 

 

We encourage submissions in all areas of experimental economics and behavioural economics, broadly defined. For example, theory, methodology, lab experiments, lab-in-the-field experiments, field experiments, discrete choice experiments, and experiments in development. 

 

Important deadlines: 

Abstract submission (300 - 500 words): July 15, 2023. 

Notification of acceptance: 1 August, 2023. 

Early registration cutoff: 5 September, 2023. 

Final registration cutoff: 15 October, 2023. 

 

Cape Town is a very popular place in December, so we encourage you to book as soon as you have received your notification of acceptance. Please also check visa entry requirements for South Africa.
