13th Thurgau Experimental Economics Meeting (THEEM)
*Culture*
19th-21st March, 2025, in Kreuzlingen (CH)
Keynote speakers: Paola Sapienza & Charles Efferson
Humans are particularly good at developing culture, distinguishing their
groups through shared beliefs, preferences, and behaviors. Despite the
diversity of cultural groups at various levels—including nations,
linguistic communities, and organizations—the foundational mechanisms by
which distinct cultures emerge and persist are often similar. We invite
experimental and theoretical contributions from economics, other social
and behavioral sciences, as well as from biology that shed light on the
mechanisms of cultural evolution and the resulting variations in
beliefs, preferences, and behaviors across groups.
