Call for Papers Extended - 30 January 2026

The IMEBESS Organising Committee is delighted to announce the 10th edition of IMEBESS, to be held at the Prague Congress Centre on 9–11 July 2026.

IMEBESS brings together scholars from across the social sciences with a shared interest in experimental and behavioural research. We warmly welcome contributions from anthropology, economics, political science, psychology, sociology, and related fields.

We are excited to host this special anniversary edition in Prague, a city renowned for its rich intellectual history and cultural vibrancy, and to welcome the following invited speakers:

  • Matthew O. Jackson (Stanford University)
A leading economist whose work spans game theory, microeconomic theory, and social and economic networks.
  • Nicola Fuchs-Schündeln (WZB Berlin Social Science Center)
President of WZB Berlin and a prominent scholar in macroeconomics, growth, and institutions.
  • Michael Muthukrishna (London School of Economics)
Renowned Professor of Economic Psychology whose research explores cooperation, culture, innovation, and social learning.

We invite theoretical and empirical papers across all areas of the social sciences, including experimental and behavioural economics, sociology, political science, and psychology. Scholarships will be available for students from the Global South.

IMEBESS 2026 coincides with the 2026 Prague meeting of the European Political Science Association (EPSA 2026 Prague).  A pre-conference SRG Workshop on July 8, 2025 will highlight the contributions of Oxford’s very successful Synthetic Replication Games that was inaugurated at IMEBESS 2025 Valencia.
