The Behavioral Research Lab (
BRL) in the College
of Business at Lehigh University invites applications to the Advancing
Future Faculty Diversity Postdoctoral Scholars Program. This initiative
is for outstanding scholars with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
who plan to pursue a career in the professoriate. The appointment is for
one-year, with the possibility of renewal for one or two additional
years upon mutual agreement. This opportunity is aimed at prospective
future faculty whose experience and plans for teaching, research and
service are aligned with creating a more diverse and inclusive academic
culture of excellence at Lehigh, or institutions like Lehigh. Other
eligibility details can be found online in the "About the Program"
section.
Specifically the
BRL seeks to
attract, develop, and support a talented social and behavioral scientist
with a strong background in psychology, political science, marketing,
management, economics, organizational behavior, or other fields. The
BRL
also seeks candidates with interest in acquiring the research skills
and experiences necessary to transition to tenure track faculty
positions in business schools. Candidates with prior experience in
conducting research in business schools are also encouraged to apply. We
will also consider applicants with PhDs in statistics or data science
whose work complements research in any of the six departments of Lehigh
Business (Accounting, DATA, Economics, Finance, Management, or
Marketing).
This is primarily a research position. There are no
teaching obligations and most of the postdoc’s time will be dedicated to
independent research. However, approximately half of the postdoctoral
appointment will be devoted to managing the brand-new Behavioral
Research Lab (
BRL), under the mentorship of the
four co-directors of the Lab: Felipe Augusto de Araujo (Economics), Joe
Vitriol (Management), Danny Zane (Marketing) and Nevena Koukova
(Marketing). The
BRL has 25 individual stations,
three private rooms for focus groups and interviews, and an observation
room. The lab will serve as a dynamic hub for cutting-edge,
interdisciplinary research throughout the College of Business and Lehigh
community.
