All,

The Southern Economic Journal is publishing “A Symposium on Combining Economic Theory and Experiments in Honor of James C. Cox.”

With an academic career spanning over 50 years, Jim has made numerous influential contributions to the field of experimental economics from auctions to risk aversion to trust and reciprocity to optimal search. Throughout his career, Jim’s research has emphasized the importance of the interplay between theory and experiments, helping to shape the methodological approach of our profession. Among his many other professional accomplishments, Jim was the President of the Southern Economic Association and is a Distinguished Fellow of the Southern Economic Association.

Submissions are being handled through the SEJ’s regular submission portal and go through the standard peer review process. To be considered for the symposium, you must select this option when submitting the paper.  If you are interested in submitting a paper, you can find more information at https://sites.google.com/view/celebration-of-james-cox/home or on the journal's website.

The deadline has been extended until December 15th, 2025.

We hope you will consider submitting a paper to the SEJ symposium!

Best,
Cary Deck
