Dear colleagues,
We invite junior researchers (PhD students, postdocs/assistant profs, recent associate professor) to apply for presentation slots at the workshop “Leadership, Employee Well-Being, and Firm Performance”, to be held in Salzburg, Austria, June 18–19, 2026.
The workshop is a small, research-focused meeting centered on presentations by leading scholars and selected junior researchers, with ample time for discussion. We are delighted that the following researchers have already confirmed their participation:
Raffaella Sadun, John Antonakis, Guido Friebel, Ingrid Haegele, Rachel Kranton, Heather Schofield, Anja Schöttner, Aloysius Siow, Dirk Sliwka, Matthias Sutter.
Scope
We welcome empirical work in organizational and personnel economics on leadership and middle management, including (but not limited to):
  • employee well-being and retention/turnover,
  • productivity and firm performance,
  • managerial practices and incentives,
  • supportive/directive leadership, management training, and implementation,
  • field experiments/RCTs, administrative or personnel data, and credible quasi-experimental designs.

Logistics & funding
  • We cover accommodation in Salzburg (June 17–20, 2026).
  • Travel costs are not covered.
