Dear Colleagues,

We announce that the “Soleto Summer School and Workshop in Experimetrics & Behavioral Economics” will be dedicated to the memory of Gary Charness, who passed away two weeks ago.

Indeed, shorty after Gary’s passing, the organizers and keynote speakers — several of them being Gary’s personal friends and/or co-authors — unanimously agreed that it was natural to dedicate the event to him.
In one of his last emails, Gary himself expressed his desire to come to Soleto for the summer school in July 21-27, if he had recovered.

Therefore, we have included in the program of the summer school and workshop several events, talks, and other activities dedicated to Gary and his work:
  • Panel sessions on Gary’s works, moderated by his co-authors and friends;
  • Small groups of attending students mentored to review Gary’s works, with the goal of preparing survey papers.

Additionally, due to the number of applications received in the last few days, we have decided to:

- increase the number of invited teachers from 30 to 40;

- increase the number of admissions to 80 (+10);

extend the application deadline with early enrollment discount (previously set for June 2) to June 16. The final application deadline (with no discount) is July 7.

Below, you will find all the details about the application process, program, and special issues organized in association with the event.
