Dear Colleagues,

We invite researchers to submit papers or extended abstracts to the Workshop on Cultural Economics and Economic History at TU Munich (CEEH-TUM), to be held on 07. April to 09. April 2025 at the historic Raitenhaslach Abbey in Bavaria, Germany.

The workshop will bring together researchers at the PhD, post-doc, and early-career levels (up to 8 years after PhD) to explore topics in cultural economics and economic history, with a focus on empirical work, including behavioral and experimental methods. Topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Cultural evolution and its influence on economic behavior and development
  • The influence of institutions on economic and social outcomes
  • Migration, conflict, religion, and cultural change throughout history
  • Historical determinants of economic growth and inequality

We are planning a small-scale in-person meeting. Accommodation and meals (incl. dinner) will be covered by the organizers. There is no conference fee. Participants must take care of their own travel expenses.

We are very happy to have two distinguished keynote speakers:

Felipe Valencia Caicedo (University of British Columbia, CAN), and

Jonathan Schulz (George Mason University, USA)
