The Institute of Economics at Leuphana University Lüneburg is currently inviting applications for a PhD position (Research Associate). We offer the opportunity to pursue a doctorate in an active research environment with a focus on applied empirical economics, particularly behavioral and labor economics.
You will join a research-oriented team. The position includes close scientific exchange with members of the Institute as well as external guests. We regularly organize academic conferences and workshops, providing an excellent entry point into national and international research networks.
Through the “Research Cluster Behavioral Economics and Societal Transformation” (www.wissenschaftsraum-verhalten.de), we coordinate a collaboration among seven universities in Lower Saxony, whose activities (including the PhD program) are also open to you.
Your responsibilities:
- Pursuit of your own doctoral research (PhD project)
- Teaching support (primarily tutorials at the undergraduate level, mainly in English, 3 contact hours per week)
- Research assistance and academic services for the Institute of Economics
- Administrative support in program coordination
Your profile:
- A completed university degree (Master or equivalent) in economics or a related field, with a minimum grade of "good"
- Research interests aligned with the Institute's focus, particularly in applied empirical economics (e.g., behavioral or labor economics)
- Solid computer skills, especially in standard applications and Stata
- Excellent command of English
