Dear all,
We have included additional information for the AI/ML in Behavioral Experiments special issue. Please refer to the details below.

The Journal of Behavioural and Experimental Economics (JBEE) will publish a virtual special issue (VSI) on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Behavioural Experiments. This VSI invites behavioural economics studies involving any of the following topics:

  • Robot / AI / automation and its effect on human performance.
  • Revisiting social preferences when interactions are moderated by AI.
  • Human behaviour in games or markets when traders/players are algorithms or AI bots.
  • New methods in Behavioural Economics: enhancing the analysis of human behavioural data with ML/AI.

Manuscript submission information:

We are seeking original, high-quality research that investigates the impact of AI on human interactions and behavior. Submissions should include a clear description of the experimental methods and procedures used, as well as a detailed analysis of the results. We recommend pre-registration.

New: We welcome registered reports If you plan to submit a registered report, we recommend that you follow the procedure outlined at https://rr.peercommunityin.org/help/guide_for_authors. Please contact us if you have any questions.

The deadline for submission is March 1st, 2024. However, due to the virtual nature of the special issue, all articles will be published as soon as they are accepted for publication.

To ensure that all manuscripts are correctly identified for inclusion into the special issue, it is important to select “VSI: AI/ML in Behavioural Experiments” when you reach the “Article Type” step in the submission process.

Submit a paper to this special issue. The deadline for submission is March 1st, 2024. The call for papers can be found here.

Should you have further questions, please contact Monica (monica...@cgu.edu), Oliver (oli...@kirchkamp.de) and/or Alex (aleksandr...@ur.de)
